The two most powerful console gaming systems on the market are the Xbox 360 and the PS3. This article is going to compare the Xbox 360 vs PS3. While both systems have their plusses and minuses the only way to really make a decision on which is better is to put them head to head and look at the Xbox 360 vs PS3.

Xbox 360 vs PS3 – Which to Buy?

The first thing you want when getting a game system is game support. Currently both systems offer and extensive range of titles, however in the Xbox 360 vs PS3 battle the PS3 wins this first fight. There are simply more titles available and from a larger range of producers for the PS3.

However, one thing to not on the topic of available games, is that there is an extensive list of very popular games that are exclusively available for the Xbox 360. One of which has been voted the game of the year several times and continues to dominate the first person shooter gaming world – Halo 3. Unavailable on any other system, this title alone is almost reason enough to buy an Xbox 360.

Next up is reliability of the unit. The PS3 is built by Sony Corporation, known for many years for building solid and reliable electronic equipment. The Xbox 360 has been plagued since its launch by technical issues, although most of those appear to have been resolved at this point. For all the quality that Sony has had over the years, the PS3 is not one of their most reliable products. While not as faulty as the Xbox 360, it still has had its share of problems. This one goes to the PS3, but only by a slight margin.

Online game play is probably one of the hottest and most important things in console gaming today. Both systems offer online play, but the Xbox 360 is the clear winner here. Microsoft has had Xbox Live available for many years now and their system is feature rich and extremely reliable. The PS3 version of this is still in its infancy and has many bugs and not nearly the strong feature set of Xbox Live.

So when looking at Xbox 360 vs PS3 a couple things become apparent. The most important is that it is not necessarily the game console that will ultimately affect your decision on which to purchase, but rather which features you are looking for. If you want a system to play against friends and foes online, are a huge Halo 3 fan, than the Xbox is your obvious choice, If you want a console to play mostly by yourself with the strongest selection of titles, than the PS3 is your choice. Whichever it happens to be, just make sure that you are getting what you want before you buy.

If you are in the market for a new gaming console, there are a few out there to choose from. The Nintendo Wii is an inexpensive option, but doesn’t come with as many features as the Xbox 360 or the PS3. Your best choice is to look at the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 in order to make a great decision for your new gaming system.

Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 had any great features that can accommodate the beginning gamer as well as the expert gamer. The Xbox 360 has a lower price than the PS3, can show better visual quality, and has a better game selection and online support for any problems that arise. The Xbox 360 is well-prices at just $299. The graphics also outperform those on the PS3 system. It has to do with the choice of the type of memory that the Xbox 360 uses compared to the one that the PS3 uses. And since the Xbox 360 came out nearly a year before the PS3, they have twice the selection of games for their system than the PS3 has. Plus, many games that can play on the original Xbox still work on the Xbox 360.

The online plan for Xbox 360 is exceptional. This is one of the areas where the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 debate is hard to call a clear winner. They have been using the online gaming experience longer than any other company and have been able to perfect most of it, and while it is exceptional, so is the online options for the PS3.

The PS3

Even though the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 debate looks like an open and shut case, it isn’t. The PS3 is a powerful machine, probably more suited for expert gamers. If you spend the $499 on the PS3, then you should know what you are getting for your money. There are different versions of the console, but the cheapest is the 20GB version. This powerful machine will give you excellent game playing quality. The PS3 also has a great (and free) online plan called the Playstation Network. On this site you can play games, network with people, purchase downloads for your system, and so much more.

One thing that sets the PS3 apart from the Xbox 360 is the use of Blu-Ray technology. The PS3 utlizes this technology for saving, downloading, and playing movies on the system. This is just another aspect of the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 debate you will have to look at.

When looking at Xbox 360 vs. PS3, remember to first look for the aspects of the system that will be most important to you. Whether it’s the online plans, the technology, or the disk space, compare and make your choice based on your gaming needs.
