Money Making Ideas for The Sims
Just like in real life, the characters in The Sims are also responsible for making enough money to stay afloat and for paying their fair share of bills. As the player, you are responsible for navigating your Sims characters successfully through life. This means that you are also responsible for finding a way to make them prosper financially. Not just to save and sock away for the future, but for every day needs like eating and buying clothes. If your Sims characters are in dire need of money, here are some ideas for getting your characters to make some cold hard cash. Your Sims characters can actually earn money through a variety of odd jobs, and not just through a traditional job or career.
The most basic way to get your Sims to make money is to put them on a traditional career path. How to get started? First, get your character to begin perusing the want ads in the newspaper, or get them to search the Internet for viable employment. The game will provide with a set time that your character has to appear at work, and you will be made aware of any specific requirements that they will have to fulfill on the job.
If your Sims character seems particularly creative, here’s a fun and easy way to make a few extra dollars. Get them to paint: they can paint pictures for other Sims and sell them. This will certainly not make your Sims character rich, but it is a nice way to keep your creative characters engaged and in charge of their finances. Another easy way to make a few extra bucks is to have your characters make gnomes. As strange as this option may sound to you, it is actually fast and fun way to make extra money. In order to have this option, you will need to have the Sims Livin’ Large expansion pack installed onto your game. The Livin’ Large expansion pack allows your characters access to a mechanical bench that allows them to make gnomes. Once your character has reached the mechanical skill level of ten, they are ready to make gnomes. The gnomes are pretty easy to make, and can often provide your character with diversion and enjoyment, not to mention a few extra dollars from the sale of the gnomes.
Another creative way for your Sims characters to make extra money is through gardening. This is a good way to fulfill a character’s hobby motives while making a few extra bucks. Gardening can actually work as a hobby or as a full time job. In order to have access to this option, you will need to have the Sims Unleashed expansion pack installed onto your game plan. The gardening option is available when your character travels to Old Town. He or she can purchase seeds there. Your character must plant the seeds, tend the newly grown plants, and then harvest them for sale. You can also choose to have your character eat the produce. This can help save costs in the food department. Another simple way to make extra money by working from home is by making preserves. You will need the Sims Hot Date expansion pack in order to have access to this option. In the Sims Hot Date, you can purchase a Boggs home canning center. Every time that one of your characters uses the canning center, they gain cooking skill points. Your character can also sell the finished canned preserve for a tidy profit.
Finally, you can have your Sims make money by having them become a superstar. The Sims Superstar expansion pack allows your characters to reach for fame. Those who make it not only become famous, they also become very rich.
