If you are a fan of simulation games, chances are you have already ventured forth into the world of Sim building games. These games allow you to become the God of your own little universe: you are, in effect, creating your own little world. If you enjoy being in complete control of a burgeoning town or city, than you will probably enjoy the following games. The Internet is filled with sim building games, and many of them are available for download for free. Here is a brief overview of the top free sim building games on the Internet today.

SimCity Classic Online: The classic city building game that launched the enormously popular Sims franchise. To get started building your own city follow these four easy steps. First, you will obviously need to provide the residents of your proposed city with some steady source of energy. This is where the power plant comes in. Traditionally, the first step to starting your Sim City is to build a power plant. To get started building your power plant; locate the Coal Power Plant tool. Choose on an empty area of your map where you want to locate your power plant. How do you know that your power plant is working? Check to see if smoke is emitting from the power plant. If there is no smoke, the game may be on pause. The second step to building your Sim City is to begin the zoning process. Zones are designated areas of your city. You can zone for many different kinds of buildings and locations, including parks, Residential zones, Commercial zones, and Industrial zones. Place your zones near your power plant.

The next step involves connecting the power lines. Your zones will remain static little boxes if you don’t connect the power lines. Once you have successfully connected the power, your zones will come to life. To complete this step, simply connect your zones to the power plant through the use of power lines. The final basic step to building your Sim City is to build roads so your sim people can get around easily. Build roads close to your zones. Once you complete this step, you should start noticing that your Sim City is coming to life.

City Creator: If you have had your fill of the SimCity Classic Online, you can head on over to the City Creator website, another fun and free online building sim game. Denise Wilton and Cal Henderson created City Creator. The game is especially fun for newcomers, who find the easy drag and drop construction process manageable and easy enough to build a city in a few minutes. The site provides you with ‘pre-cut’ pieces of your city. There are pieces of road, walls, paths, and others that you can arrange and rotate until you have created something to your liking. Although the site is usually reliable and stable, some users have had trouble with the site. These are usually players who are using specific web browsers. The most trouble has been reported through the use of the Internet Explorer browser on PCs. Users have complained that pieces suddenly disappear when they are trying to drag and drop.

Freeciv: This a free and popular online sim building game that allows multiple players to play across several platforms. Part of the attraction of the game is that it involves a lot of strategy. The various players are fighting to achieve the same goal: to become the most successful and greatest civilization. Freeciv is offered through a stable client/server system that has been built by coders and game enthusiasts around the world.
