House Party Happenings, The Sims Style
If you love playing The Sims, there’s a mighty good chance you will enjoy playing the Sims House Party. This crazy, rocking expansion pack lets you and your favorite Sims players get a little wild and crazy. If this line-up of brand new objects doesn’t get you excited, then what will? In the Sims House Party, your characters now have access to bubble machines, campfires, go-go dance cages, and an expedient party caterer who will, well, cater to your every need. If your Sims’ parties have grown dull, or if they are practically non-existent, then the Sims House Party is just what the doctor ordered.
Many dedicated Sims fanatics enjoyed the Sims Livin’ Large, one of the first expansion packs available for the Sims. But some gamers found some of the situations in Livin’ Large to be too far-fetched (remember, this is the expansion pack with the alien abductions and genie). The Sims House Party is crazy, but not quite as fantastical as Livin’ Large. If you enjoyed the Sims Livin’ Large but are looking for something just a little more down to earth (but not too down to earth), then the Sims House Party may be right for your game. One of the ways in which the Sims House Party is more realistic is the decor. In the Sims Livin’ Large, the decor ranged from schmalty Vegas and Retro to stately castle. Not exactly realistic stuff. The Sims House Party is creative, but keeps it well within the bounds of true to life parties. For instance, in House Party there are three basic shindigs to choose from. These include a traditional Hawaiian Luau, a neon and bubbles rave, and a honkey tonkin’s good time with a traditional old west cowboy party. So far, Sims gamers have been impressed with the realism depicted in the Sims House party. All the sets, wallpaper, and floors are realistic and fun.
Like the other Sims expansion packs, the Sims House Party also introduces a whole slew of new objects for your characters to play with. In House Party, the objects include a fun costume trunk, a roaring campfire, and of course, a big dance floor. The dance floor will no doubt solicit hours of fun and enjoyment. It’s fun to watch the Sims characters dancing on the floor, often in silly yet thoroughly endearing ways. Even the more discrete characters are known to get down and boogie. The style of dance will be dictated by the kind of music playing while the characters are on the dance floor. Keep this in mind if you are set on seeing them dance specific moves. You can also watch your Sims have fun with the bubble machine. They will blow bubbles until their hearts are content, and then burst out laughing. In House Party, you can also have your characters play charades and silly camp songs.
One of the most important new non-playable characters that you will encounter in the Sims House Party is the beloved caterer. The caterer is thoroughly professional. For a mere $350, you can hire him to cater your party. If you can afford him, the price is well worth it. He keeps the punch bowl full and the buffet table in order. Sometimes, he will also mingle with your guests. This can sometimes lead to trouble if you don’t keep your eyes on him. He can become preoccupied with mingling, that he forgets he’s there to cater. If your party has grown dull, you can liven things up by hiring another of the non-playable characters, the entertainer. The entertainer can be either male or female. You can have him or her jump out of a cake when things start to get a little boring.
