Dying and Death, Sims Style
When you think of computer games, your mind probably doesn’t automatically think of death. But if you are one of the millions of gamers that play The Sims, death is something you will eventually have to consider. Even though The Sims is a game, the rules of life and death correlate with those of real life. If you decide to “kill off” one of the Sims characters, you should know that you cannot bring the character back. With this in mind, if you decide to off one of the Sims characters, make sure that you really want them gone, because one they are gone, there’s no bringing them back.
Although the Sims characters go through several life stages, they do not die naturally. You are responsible for your character’s demise. There are four basic ways to off a Sims character. They can be summed up into four general categories: fire, drowning, starvation and electrocution. Many Sims gamers agree that one of the easiest ways to kill a Sims character is through the use of fire. In fact, it is possible that perhaps you have already lost one or two Sims characters due to a fire accident. Many gamers also agree that death by fire is actually one of the quickest and least painful ways for your characters to die. If you decide to off one of the Sims characters through fire, make certain that there is not a fire alarm in sight. If there is a fire alarm in the vicinity, there’s a good chance that a fire fighter may arrive just in time to put the fire out. If you decide that fire is the way to go, here are a few tips on how the deed can be done. Cooking is one of the easiest ways to start a fire. If the Sims character that you are trying to off has a low cooking point, have them cook at the stove. Chances are, they will start a fire. Another way to off a character through fire is to have them set off fireworks indoors. Finally, you can also have your character set off fireworks indoors. This is a sure-fire way to start a fire.
Another way to off a Sims character is through the difficult to watch method of starvation. Many gamers agree that this is one of the crueler ways to watch a Sims character die. The process of starving a Sims character is simple enough. Simply sequester the character into the kitchen, and do not fulfill their fun, hunger or hygiene needs. Eventually, the character will die. If this sounds too slow and painful for your taste, you can also electrocute your Sims characters. Electrocution is not a very efficient way to off a Sims character, but many gamers find the challenge worth it. Death by electrocution can often be difficult to achieve. Most of the time, electrocution occurs as the Sims character is trying to make a mechanical repair, or replace a light bulb. Theoretically, there is only a one percent chance that the character will die through electrocution. However, the chances of electrocution increase if the character does not possess good technical skills. Electrocution can also be managed if you can get the character to use an electrical device while standing in a pool of water.
Finally, there is the option of drowning. Like electrocution, drowning is not the most efficient way to off a character. Like starvation, it is also one of cruelest ways to go. The process is simple enough: have your Sims character swim in a pool. When they are in the center of the pool, remove the ladder. The character will eventually tire out, and if you neglect to provide them with a ladder, they will eventually die.
